Spring 2022 Issue

Chief Media Designer

I helped put the magazine together (design-wise) using InDesign and Photoshop. I helped to crop the cover image as well as chose fonts, colors and backgrounds. I figured out how to link images and work with the printer to send the complete file and made sure they had every image we used so they would show up when printed. I also helped take pictures and wrote a community resources list.

Special Solutions Issue Spring 2023

Editor-in-Chief

I worked with a team as part of my magazine to collaborate with the Solutions Journalism Network to create a special issue during our Spring 2023 semester. This was our first bilingual issue to be published both online and in print as well as the first time publishing twice in a semester. With this issue I focused on connecting with the community. I reported on mental health amongst the homeless in Long Beach as well as co-hosted a townhall to cover topics such as tenant rights and resources and issue amongst the houseless in Long Beach.

Spring 2023 Issue

Editor-in-Chief

With this issue I helped with design aspects, such as sharing ideas and helping with design in a few pages. I helped in helping make final decision in the process of making the magazine. I helped to plan and guide the launch party as well as the promotion of the magazine, working closely with the PR team and social media team. We dedicated the back cover to our graduating class due to the issue of our school and president not letting us walk or say our names at graduation.
